Joshua Weissman was born in Los Angeles, California. He grew up there, residing in the city until 2015 when he relocated to Austin, Texas. At the age of 3, he was introduced to the world of cooking by his mother. That sparked a profound love and passion for culinary arts. In 2012, at the age of 16, he initiated his food blog under the name Slim Palate. Over time, Joshua’s blog gained tremendous success, earning him recognition on the popular Kitchn website. Later, a publishing house approached him with a request to write a cookbook.

Despite juggling his high school studies, he managed to complete the book within a span of seven months. On March 11, 2014, Joshua published The Slim Palate Paleo Cookbook, a remarkable feat.

On February 28, 2014, still in high school, Joshua established his YouTube channel, naming it Joshua Weissman. After finishing high school, Joshua decided not to go to college. Instead, he chose to work in restaurants because he was good at cooking
