Arpan Kumar Chandel, popularly known as King Rocco, is an Indian rapper. Born and raised in Delhi, King started his musical career at an early age. He was always interested towards singing. King was born to Ashok Chandel and Rani Chandel. He was influenced by the international singers of the time, especially Yo Yo Honey Singh and Raftaar.

Early life and education

Arpan started his YouTube channel ‘King Rocco’ and uploaded his first video ‘Boombass’ in 2015. He received a silver play button for his YouTube channel in 2019. On 5 October 2018, he released his first music album ‘Circumstances.’ Some of the songs released under the album are “She Know,” “Red Dirt State,” “The Divison,” and “Clearly By Now.”

Before making his career as a professional singer and rapper, he used to do a job in the government sector. In 2019, he auditioned for the TV reality show ‘MTV Hustle.’ He gave his audition digitally and sent his rap videos to the makers of MTV Hustle. He was then selected for the final audition round. In the audition round, King sang ‘Mai Khoya Rahu’ song and with his performance, he became the first contestant to make it to the Top 15. He was among the Top-5 contestants in the show.

In 2020, he released the music album ‘The Carnival,’ and some of the songs released under the album includes “Dracula,” “90s,” “Mafiia,” “Let The Eyes Talk,” “IICONIC,” and “Tu Aake Dekhle.” He released another music album in the same year titled ‘Heartbreak, Made Me Do It.’

In 2021, he released the music album ‘The Gorilla Bounce’ with the songs “Casanova,” “Main Bas Kehti Nahi,” “Era,” and “Tera Hua Na Mai Kabhi.” His song named ‘Tu Aake Dekhle’, which was released from his debut album Carnival, became viral over the Internet with more than 377 million views. The song has also beaten its competition in terms of most views. This is King’s biggest achievement, and the song will be a staple in his discography. In addition to his YouTube channel, King has also published songs on Spotify and Voot. He has received some notable accolades, including the Silver play button.

His recent modern romantic ballad ‘Maan Meri Jaan’ is rating on top of all music charts and is trending on reels and music apps. Even Alia Bhatt reacted to the song and was tripping over it. Moreover, King’s live concert where he sang Maan Meri Jaan in Mumbai on New Year’s Eve went viral and people loved his energetic performance. On Youtube, the video of Maan Meri Jaan got more than 100 million views.

MTv Hustle

In 2019, King auditioned for MTv Hustle and got selected for his excellent singing skills. He appeared till top 5 contestants of the show. However, as his name speaks, he made a comeback on the sequel of the show- MTv Hustle 2.0 in 2022 but as a ‘Judge’. During the show, he judged with a soft heart and guided everyone.
