Early life, family, and education

Atif Aslam was born on 12 March 1983. His birthplace is the Wazirabad city of Punjab, Pakistan. He also belongs to a Pakistani Punjabi Family. Atif’s parents are Mohammad Aslam and Rehana Shaheen. Moreover, he has three brothers named Shahbaz, who is a Designer, Shahzad, who is a photographer and Sheraz.

Atif began his kindergarten education from Kimberley Hall School, Lahore. Afterwards, he moved to Rawalpindi, he studied at St. Paul’s Cambridge School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. He then continued his studies from Divisional Public School. Later, he returned to Lahore where started his FSC from Fazaia Inter College, Lahore. Atif then attended Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS), Lahore for his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Personal life

Atif Aslam is married to Sara Bharwana. Sara is an educationist. Atif fell in love with Sara during his college days and tied knots after seven years of courtship. The couple also has a son named Ahad.

Career

Atif Aslam started his career as the lead singer of the band named “Jal” in 2002. He then earned much of his fame through the band. Later, it got commercial success initially through the song “Aadat” in the year 2003. But later he left the band and released his first solo album titled “Jalpari,” which turned out to be a huge hit. Atif got his first break in the Bollywood through Mahesh Bhatt, when he came to Atif to seek his approval for adding his song “Woh Lamhey” in the movie “Zeher (2005).” He also tried his hands on acting and made his debut through the film “Bol” in 2011. 

Afterwards, he sang two songs for a Bollywood film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani called Tera Hone Laga Hoon and Tu Jaane Na. He has also sung many more songs for Bollywood like Pehli Nazar Mein (Race) and Bakuda Tum Hi Ho (Kismat Konnection).

Atif’s next Bollywood venture was Prince in which he has sung four songs (Tere Liye, Aa Bhi Ja Sanam, Kaun Hoon Main and O Mere Khuda). He is now a household name to listen to peaceful and quality music.

• Later, in 2012, “Bol Ke Lab Azaad Hain” and “Mori Araj Suno” was featured in the movie “The Reluctant Fundamentalist”.
• At the beginning, he had no money to record “Aadat.” So Atif Aslam drove a local van and somehow managed to earn Rs. 15000 for the recording.
• His first concert was held at McDonald’s and he earned an amount of  PKR 500.
• Atif also loves making sketches in his free time.
