Avinesh Rekhi is one of the most talented and renowned actors in the television industry. He is known widely among households for playing the role of Sarabjeet Singh Gill in the popular television serial Chhoti Sardarni.

• Avinesh Rekhi debuted TV with the suspense thriller show Chhal – Sheh aur Maat. Avi bagged the lead role of Kabir Jaiswal.

• Avinesh portrayed the character of an arch-enemy Sultan Kundra in the popular show Madhubala starring Drashti Dhami and Vivian Dsena.

• In 2013-14, he endeavoured as Neeraj Sachdev, a parallel lead of the suspense psychology Main Naa Bhoolungi

• In 2015, Avinesh joined the Sharad Malhotra starrer Bharat ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap as Jalaluddin Mohammad, aka the third Mughal emperor Akbar on Sony TV.

• He also played an episodic role for &TV show Darr Sabko Lagta Hai.

Important Roles

*The first show that gained him significant recognition was Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, a remake of Diya Aur Baati Hum. He played the protagonist Uma Shankar Toshniwal opposite his co-star Rhea Sharma in April 2017. The show aired on Star Plus.

*Another loved and recognised role was SSG, aka Sarabjeet Singh Gill, in the most-watched Colors TV serial Chhoti Sardarni with co-actor Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia.

*Just as his performance as SSG came to an end and he exited the show, Avi bagged the role of DSR – Devraj Singh Rathore, the respected Prince of Ambikapur, in the recently aired Zee Tv Show Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Na opposite Anjali Tatrari. The two artists seem to be having the time of their life while shooting.

He made a guest appearance in the following shows :
1) Big Boss Season 13 and 14 as Avinesh.
2)Portrayed Devraj in the serial Meet.
3) As Sarabjeet in comedy premiere Khatra Khatra Khatra hosted by Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa.

However, he failed to achieve recognition and fame in the two Bollywood movies he played a supporting role in, namely, Ru Ba Ru (2008) and Dil Bole Hadippa! (2009). His roles went unnoticed, but he didn’t give up even after staying home without work for two years (2015-17) because he believes that “Struggles keep you grounded and doesn’t let success get to your head”.

Avinesh Rekhi talks about his struggle to earn in an interview by informing them of how those two years of ” no work phase” was devastating and demotivating, which led him to knock on the doors of all production houses asking for roles. “My dedication, sincerity, hard work and the support of my family, has made me reach where I am today. But it hasn’t been a cakewalk. When I reflect on those years, I derive strength from that phase”, he says.
