Early life, family, and education
Brodha V’s real name is Vighnesh Shivanand. He was born on Tuesday, 27 March 1990. His birthplace is Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. Also, his zodiac sign is Aries. Brodha also did his schooling at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bengaluru.
Afterward, started rapping when he was studying in 12th standard and decided to make a career in the same. However, his family did not support him because they haven’t found this career much successful and wanted him to choose a secure career. They also asked him to pursue a degree in engineering. Career
Brodha V made his debut rap with the song ‘Pettai Rap’ from the 1994 Tamil film ‘Kadhalan’. Moreover, this song was composed by A. R. Rahman. It was the first movie that Vignesh saw in a theatre.
Rapper
At first, he started participating frequently in ‘text battles’ on Orkut. In 2008, Brodha found out about a forum ‘Insignia Rap Combat’ on Orkut, which was started by two rappers from Delhi, Speed Ice and D’Brassic. Afterwards, he started composing his own songs.
Band: Machas With Attitude (MWA)
Brodha V founded the hip-hop group ‘Machas With Attitude’ (MWA) in 2008 with two other rappers Smokey the Ghost and Big Nikk. Later they worked on “Dheaon Dheaon” from the 2011 film ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’. Moreover, they met Vishal Dadlani after winning the Radio City Freedom Award in 2013 and Vishal also offered to have them work on the Bollywood film Chennai Express. Brodha and his team created the song “Ready Steady Po”. In 2013, the group thought of solo careers.

In 2011, Brodha V released his first mixtape titled ‘Death Punch’ as a solo artist ,and, in 2012, he released his single track, ‘On My Own,’ featuring Avinash Bhat. Again, Vignesh released his second single track ‘Aathma Rama,’ which garnered 12 million views on YouTube. In 2013, Vignesh dropped another single, ‘After Party,’ after which he released his single ‘Aigiri Nandini’ in 2014 under the music label Sony Music India. However, in 2015, he ended the contract due to some differences.

In 2018, Brodha V released a song titled ‘Young and Restless’ in collaboration with Spykar Jeans, India. In 2019, he collaborated in both English and Hindi with rapper Raftaar and released the song ‘Naachne Ka Shaunq.’ Then, Vignesh collaborated with clothing brand Puma for encouraging hip-hop in India. In 2019, Brodha released the song ‘Vainko,’ featuring the music duo Naser Al Azzeh and Vineeth “Beep” Kumar, the duo popularly known as Jordindian.
Music Producer
Along with Varun Agarwal, a novelist, filmmaker, and businessman, and stand-up comedians Sanjay Manaktala and Sumukhi Suresh, and others, Brodha V produced the music for “Anu Aunty – The Engineering Anthem”. This was the parody of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” that quickly gained popularity on social media.
