Vikas Divyakirti is a renowned IAS trainer, author and founder of Drishti IAS coaching in Delhi. He qualified in one of the most challenging exams, UPSC, on his first attempt. Also, his coaching institute is considered the most promising coaching centre for UPSC exams.

Bio

Early Life and Education

Vikas was born on 26 December 1976 in Haryana. He completed his primary education at Sarswarti Sishu Mandir. For further studies, he was admitted to Delhi University. He successfully obtained his Bachelor’s in history degree.

Then he changed his subject and completed his masters in Hindi. He then went for a master’s degree in mass communication and sociology and later received an LLB degree. He also pursued a degree in Hindi and English translation.

Family and Relationships

He was born in Haryana, India. His parents were professors of Hindi subjects. They used to teach at Delhi University. Dr Vikas also was a passionate Hindi learner and teacher.

He got married to Dr Taruna. She is the MD at the Drishti coaching centre. The couple was blessed with a bright son, Satwik.

Career

Initially, he started his career by teaching at DU. But he wanted to do more. Then he decided to prepare for the UPSC exams. He was hard working and successfully cracked the exam on his first attempt. He started working in the ministry of home affairs. A year later, he resigned from his position.

He started a youtube channel named “Drishti IAS”. He uploads preparation strategies and study materials too. His channel has helped many budding UPSC aspirants. It has about 8.27 million subscribers.

He has also written multiple books for IAS aspirants. After leaving his job, he started his academy to help develop learners.

• Vikas has written many books, among which Nibandh Drishti is the most famous.

• He loves animals and owns a pet dog.

• He is the editor of a current affairs magazine, “Drishti Current Affairs”.
