Early life and education of Jaimini Pathak

Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on December 4, 1980, he is 41 years old. His birthplace is Guntakal, Andhra Pradesh. However, he was brought up in Ajmer. He also began his education at Mumbai’s St. Xavier’s School. Afterward, he attended the University of Mumbai.

Later, he also traveled to Mumbai for his further schooling. Then he wanted to be a cricketer. However, he soon recognized that he was not up to the task. Even though he had already performed in school plays during college, he became interested in theatre after attending a Satyadev Dubey-led drama workshop in Mumbai.

Career of Jaimini

Jamini Pathak has worked with renowned directors like-

  • Naseeruddin Shah, 
  • Akash Khurana, 
  • Sunil Shanbhag,
  • Vikram Kapadia,
  • Also, he has been connected with several of Dubey’s works.

He and Nayantara Roy (producer) then founded the theatre group Working Title in August 1999. The primary purpose of this workshop was also to present unpublished works by Indian writers. Some of the featured works of this theatre are-

  • Dirty Talk,
  • Day I Met the Prince,
  • 60 Seconds Deep,
  • Once Upon a Tiger,
  • Curfew,
  • Combat, and
  • Thukra’s Dream

It also generated excellent works such as Gandhi and 3 Sakina Manzil, comparable to Mahadevbhai (1892-1942).

Apart from Mahadevbhai, Curfew, Combat, and The Travel Show, Jaimini also worked together again in 2013 with Postcards from Bardoli.

He also directed a piece called The Boy Who Stopped Smiling in 2015.

In 2016, he then appeared in Sapan Saran’s philosophical comedy play Waiting for Naseer, which he wrote and directed.

Jaimini has also appeared in several films, the first of which was Shailendra Shukla’s Krishna Arjun in 1997.
