Early life and Education

On November 15, 1985, Jeffree was born in Los Angeles County, California, and raised in Orange County, California. He claims that when he was a little boy, he started playing around with his mother’s cosmetics and eventually persuaded her to allow him wear it to school when he was in junior high. Star graduated in 2002 from Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, California.

After graduating from high school, he officially changed his name to Jeffree Star and worked as a makeup artist, model, and musician in Los Angeles to support himself. In 2009, Star released Beauty Killer, his debut and sole studio album, which reached at number seven on the US Billboard Top Electronic Albums list. A line of velour liquid lipsticks from his initial cosmetics collection were followed by highlighter palettes, lip scrubs, eyeshadow palettes, apparel and accessories including mirrors and makeup bags. On August 11, 2018, a Morphe Cosmetics store at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey, became the first establishment on the East Coast to sell the brand of cosmetics. Since then, Star has introduced a number of popular collections, including the “Blue Blood” eyeshadow pallet.

Nathan Schwandt and Star were romantically involved from 2015 till January 2020. Despite previously tweeting about drinking vodka on several occasions, Star claims to abstain from alcohol. He also claims to abstain from smoking and using heavy drugs, however he does use marijuana.
