Story of Jersey

Jersey is a future Indian Hindi-language sports drama film written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. It is his Hindi directorial debut and a remake of his Telugu film of the same name, which was released in 2019. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Pankaj Kapoor as a former cricketer who returns to the game to fulfill his son’s yearning for a Jersey.

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. He was born on February 25, 1981. He is the recipient of various honours, including three Filmfare Awards. He is best known for playing love roles, but he has also been in action films and thrillers.

Mrunal Thakur

Mrunal Thakur (born August 1, 1992) is an Indian actress who works primarily in the Hindi and Marathi film industries. Her first film role was in Love Sonia (2018), a drama for which she received favorable reviews. In 2019, Thakur acted in the biographical drama Super 30 and subsequently in the action flick Batla House as Shobhna Yadav, both of which were box office hits. She will appear in the sports dramas Toofaan and Jersey, as well as the action thriller Dhamaka, which will be released in 2021. She will also appear in the comedy film Aankh Micholi, which will be released in May 2022.

Pankaj Kapur

Pankaj Kapur (born May 29, 1954) is a Hindi actor who has acted in theatre, television, and films. He’s starred in a number of television episodes and films. Three Filmfare Awards and three National Film Awards are among his many achievements. His most well-known film performances include Inspector P.K. in Raakh (1989), Dr. Dipankar Roy in Ek Doctor Ki Maut (1991), and Abba ji (based on Shakespeare’s King Duncan) in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Macbeth; Maqbool (2004).

Ronit Kamra

Ronit Kamra is an Indian child actress. He is most known for his performance of Junior Nani in Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Telugu film Jersey. He also performed the same character in the Hindi remake of the film, starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. Ronit has also acted in Telugu films such as Rang De and Ghani.

Release Date of Jersey

Jersey was supposed to be released in theatres on August 28, 2020, and subsequently on November 5, 2021, however the COVID-19 epidemic forced a postponement. It was then re-released in theatres on December 31, 2021, but was postponed indefinitely due to the Omicron variant spread. It was later moved to April 14, 2022. On November 23, 2021, the first trailer was released. The principal photography for the film began on December 13th, 2019 in Chandigarh.
