Shahid Kapoor was born in Delhi, India, on February 25, 1981. Dodo, Shak, and Sasha are some of his friends’ nicknames for him. He’s also known as Bollywood’s Chocolate Boy. Since he was a child, he has been interested in dancing and performing. His parents split when he was three years old, therefore he had a difficult childhood. He desired a Pioneer music system when he was a teenager, but he didn’t have enough money to buy one; yet, after reaching success, he became the company’s brand ambassador.

He originally appeared in music videos and advertisements. He starred alongside Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji in a Pepsi commercial. Then he appeared in Aankhon Me Tere Hi Chehra, a music video. After that, he opted to enrol at Shiamak Davar Institute for Performing Arts. He later appeared in the film Taal as a background dancer in the song Kahin Aag Lage Lag Jawe and in the film Dil to Pagal Hai with Karisma Kapoor as a background dancer in the song Kahin Aag Lage Lag Jawe.

• Shahid worked as an assistant director on the TV series Mohandas B.A.L.L.B. with his father in 1998.
• He also appeared in various music videos, including Aankhon Mein (1999), Mera Dil Bole Piya Piya (1999).
