Laal Singh Chaddah is an upcoming Hindi comedy-drama film. It is directed by Advait Chandan. The screenplay of this movie is written by Eric Roth and adapted by Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. It is an official remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name. The film features Aamir Khan as the lead character along with Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh.

Storyline of movie

The story of the movie is based on Forrest Gumpby Winston Groom. The adaptation of Forrest Gump, underwent a series of changes over a period of two decades. Atul Kulkarni spent the first ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights. Events in India’s history unfold through the perspective of Laal Singh Chaddha, a dim-witted man who has an understanding of emotions.

Release date and availability

Laal Singh Chaddha is scheduled for release on 11 August 2022. Initially, it was announced that the movie will release on 25 December 2020, coinciding with Christmas. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the release was delayed by an year to 24 December 2021. Again, due to some reasons it got rescheduled to release on 14 April 2022, however, it was postponed again.
