Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia is an Indian actress, former theatre artist and model. She began her acting career by starring in music videos and playing theatrical roles. She is famous for playing the mother daughter duo role of Meher and Seher in Colors TV show Chhoti Sardarni. Her impeccable acting skills are well liked and appreciated by the audience and her co-stars Mahir Pandhi and Avinesh Rekhi. She won the Iconic Achievers Award, Iconic Gold Award in September and International Iconic Award for Best Talent of Indian Television in December 2021 for her character Seher.

She was one of the finalists of Patiala auditions for fbb Campus Princess . Nimrit was the winner of fbb Colors Femina Miss India Manipur in 2018. She also won “The Tiara Queen” title by The Great Pageant Community (TGPC) and was crowned as the “Best in Evening Gown Wear”

Nimrit interned at the Ministry of Women and Child Development in New Delhi, in association with UN. Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia partook in the National Mission for Women Empowerment. She spends her weekends teaching underprivileged children at orphanages. She has spoken on various occasions about her liking in feminism.

Nims has been quite vocal about her weight loss struggle journey before becoming a model. She weighed 78 kgs, an overweight and she was bullied for the same. She was called names like “chubby”, “fat” and “ugly”. Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia said in an interview that”I have broad shoulders and my body frame is not petite. And this is something I would sometimes feel weird about because even if I was my thinnest, I wasn’t petite. I would look anorexic. And despite all this, I didn’t feel skinny enough to be in the modelling space”.

Nimrit said that no matter how much people try to be unaffected, sometimes few critical comments  just trigger the most sensitive feelings. She was fat-shamed by her hostel mates in Law College which made her believe that she wasn’t pretty enough to be loved and respected. Her career required big eyes, big lips, fair skin and a petite frame but she looked completely opposite which played with her head.

Another instance about her brown skin was revealed when she said that being a Punjabi she was supposed to be fair but since she had a duskier skin, she was compared to her cousins and was criticised. She had endured so much of body shaming and physical appearance was a struggle due to which she lost all her confidence. However, she emerged as strong as ever and is performing outstandingly in her show Chhoti Sardarni (2019-ongoing).
