Early life, family and education of Shriya Pilgaonkar

Shriya Pilgaonkar was born on 25 April 1989. Her birthplace is Mumbai, Maharastra, India. Her parents’ names are Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Shriya also did her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.

Career

Shriya Pilgaonkar first appeared on television in the Hindi serial Tu Tu Main Main when she was oy five. In this serial, she played the role of a boy named Bittu. She then made her stage debut in 2012 with her performance in Karan Shetty’s 10-minute short play Freedom Of Love.

Afterwards, she made her big-screen debut with the 2013 Marathi film Ekulti Ek. In the movie, Shriya played the role of Swara, the daughter of Arun Deshpande (Sachin Pilgaonakar) and Nandini (Supriya Pilgaonkar).

After appearing in Ekulti Ek, she participated in other stage and film projects. Moreover, Akarsh Khurana approached Shriya to star in Internal Affairs and Common People. Furthermore, Shriya was able to work in the French film Un plus one, helmed by Oscar-winning director Claude Lelouch. In the movie, Pilgaonkar played the role of Ayanna, an Indian dancer and actor.

She also made her Bollywood debut in the 2016 film Fan, where she acted alongside Shahrukh Khan.

In 2018, she played the role of Sweety Gupta in the Amazon Prime India show Mirzapur. Mirzapur was also a massive success, and she soon became a famous face among the masses. Afterwards, in 2020, Shriya appeared on two Voot shows, The Gone Game and Crackdown.

Director and producer

In addition to being an actress, Shriya Pilgaonkar is also a director and a producer of short films. In 2012, Shriya went to Harvard University for summer school to work on short films. Shriya also co-directed and edited the short film Sleeveless and Dresswala.
