Shweta Tripathi is an Indian theatre artiste, actress, model, an assistant director, fashion designer, and a photographer. She came into the limelight after playing the role of ‘Zenia Khan’ in the TV serial “Kya mast hai Life”. She won the hearts of fans by playing the character of Golu Gupta in “Mirzapur”.

Shweta was born on 6 July 1985 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is 37 years old. Her zodiac sign is Cancer.

She did her primary schooling from DPS RK Puram. For graduation, she went to National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi to pursue her degree in Fashion Communication. She often watched plays with her parents. She decided to be an actress from a very young age. While Tripathi was in her final year of college, she attended many acting workshops. She worked as a photo editor for Femina Magazine. She even used to cut the trailers at Pixion trailer house before entering into the world of acting.

Shweta Tripathi belongs to a Brahmin Family. Her father is an IAS officer and mother is a retired teacher. She has an elder sister Pooja.

Career

In 2009, Shweta received an offer to work in Disney Channel’s show Kya Mast Hai Life Show. She played the role of a Tomboy character of Zenia Khan. After that she also appeared in The Trip Show of Bindaas Channel.She made her debut with the film “Trishna” in 2011. It was a British-Swedish-Indian film. The film was based on the very famous novel Tess Of The D Urbervilles.

In 2015, she made her Bollywood debut with the film “Masaan”. This movie was a huge breakthrough for her. She was appreciated all over for her great acting skills. In Masaan, she played the role of Shaalu. Shweta also got the Zee Cine Awards for Best Supporting Actress Award. Then in the year 2017, Shweta was featured in the film Haramkhor. She portrayed the role of Sandhya alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

She then was seen in the role of Golu Gupta in the web series Mirzapur (2018). Shweta won the hearts of fans by playing the character of Golu Gupta. Abhishek Banerjee, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Divyenndu Sharma, Shriya and Rasika Dugal were in the lead roles in this web series.

Shweta also appeared in the 2020 Netflix film Cargo with the actor Vikrant Massey. Recently, she played the role of Shikha Agarwal in the web series ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’, which is being streamed on the OTT platform Netflix.
