At the age of 17, she started her career as a VJ for Much Music in Toronto, Canada. Later, Tina moved to India from Canada, and there she got an offer to work as a VJ with Channel V, a Hindi music channel. At Channel V, Tina hosted a few music and celebrity interview shows. Thadani has also worked as a VJ for the Hindi entertainment channel B4U. Some of the TV shows that Thadani hosted as a VJ include Bollywood Ten On Ten, First Cut, and Bollywood DNA.

While in Mumbai, Tina was approached by the celebrity management company Matrix India Entertainment to work as a model.
