Vijay Raaz has completed his Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com.) from Kirori Mal College, New Delhi, India. In his college, he was a member of the Dramatic Society named ‘The Players’.

Vijay Raaz took birth in a Hindu family. He is married to Krishna Raaz. This couple is blessed with a daughter named ‘Tanishka Raaz’.

Career

He wanted to become an actor from an early age. So, to fulfil his dreams he worked at the National School of Drama in New Delhi in Rs. 12,000 per month. He got a chance to appear in a play named ‘Pagal Ghar’. In this play, he played the role of an inspector.

Then, he moved to Mumbai after working in a theatre group for almost 10 years. In Mumbai, he met Naseeruddin Shah who recommended him to the director named ‘Mahesh Mathai and the filmmaker named ‘Mira Nair’.

Finally, in 2001 he got an opportunity to work in a movie named ‘Monsoon Wedding’. In this movie, he played the role of P.K. Dubey. In 2004, he worked as a lead actor for the first time in the movie named ‘Raghu Romance’. In this, he played the role of Raghu. Then he appeared in many films in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.

• He got arrested at Abu Dubai Airport in February 2005 for possession of drugs named Marijuana of 25 gm in his hand baggage.
• He again got arrested by the Gondia Police in Maharashtra on 4 November 2020, from a five-star hotel in Mumbai as the crew member of the Bollywood film named ‘Sherni’ complained against him. She sued him for molesting her in a hotel in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. On the same day, he got released on bail.
