Early life, family, and early career of Jiya Shankar
She was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharastra, India. Since childhood, she has wanted to become an actress. However, she was timid and was not confident about her talent. Then, with time she gained confidence and started auditioning for roles when she was 16. At first, she also appeared in cameo roles and set her first step in Telegu movies.

Career
Jiya made her acting debut with the Telegu film Entha Andanga Unnave in 2013. This movie is alsostarring alongside Ajay Manthena. Afterward, in 2017, Jiya appeared in a Tamil movie named Kanavu Variyam opposite Arun Chidambaram. Then, she made her television debut, in 2015, as Alisha Rai with Bindass’s Love By Chance. In this serial, she also acted opposite Karan Singhmar. She made her first television outbreak in 2016. She also played one of the leads, Shreya Dixit Rathore, in & TV’s Queens Hain Hum.
Later, she was also seen as Susheela Ruhail Solanki opposite Paras Arora in Sab TV’s Kaatelal & Sons. In 2022, she is shooting for her new Marathi movie, ‘ Vedd’. In 2020, she also appeared in the web series ‘Virgin Bhaskar 2’. She played the role of Pakhi in this series.
Also, she is presently hosting Goodnight India. She has also been featured in many episodic shows like Gumrah, MTV Big F, Love by Chance, etc. Her new show is going to premiere on Colors TV from 8th August 2022. The name of her new show is Pishachini.
Apart from this, Jiya also has her own YouTube channel. The name of her channel is ‘Jiya Shankar Vlogs’. She has joined the YouTube platform recently and has only 8.69k subscribers on it.
