Keen made her acting debut in 2014, co-starring with her father in the BBC television series The Refugees as Ana “Ani” Cruz Oliver. After one season, the show was cancelled in 2015. Keen was cast by Marvel Comics in a big-budget Hollywood movie two years after her screen debut, after multiple auditions; she co-starred with Hugh Jackman in the 2017 superhero thriller Logan as the mutant Laura, Wolverine’s offspring clone.

Lyra Belacqua, the main character of the BBC/HBO television adaptation of the His Dark Materials trilogy, was portrayed by Keen in 2019. Keen and Andy Garca featured in the comedy-drama movie Ana in 2020. Keen joins the cast of The Acolyte, a Star Wars television series, in November 2022.
