Early life, family and education of Divyendu

Divyendu was born on 19 June 1983. His birthplace is Delhi, India. Also, He completed his degree in Political Science from Kirori Mal College of Delhi University. He was also a part of Dramatics Society in his college days. Afterward, for enhancing his acting skills he joined FTII, Pune for completing a two-year diploma in acting. Also, his full name is Divyenndu Sharma but later he dropped his surname in 2019. He also dropped his surname citing numerology and his belief that, in a country like India, it’s important to remove the many caste divisions. His official documents, however, use his full name.

Career

Divyendu began his career as a supporting actor. At first, he appeared in Madhuri Dixit’s dance film Aaja Nachle in 2007. He also got first major breakthrough with the movie Pyar Ka Punchnama in 2011.

In this movie, he also appeared as a second lead character Nishant aka Liquid. For this role, he also won Screen Awards 2011 for Best Male Debut followed by Chashme Badoor in 2013 as Omkar aka Omi.

Afterward, he also appeared in several films included Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami in 2016, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha in 2017, Batti Gul Meter Chalu in 2018 and many more.

Divyendu also has a huge fan following among digital audience. Moreover, after his appearance in Mirzapur as Phoolchand Tripathi aka Munna Bhaiya, his popularity raised. Also, this role leads to him won the iReel Award for Best Supporting Actor.

• When he was struggling, his elder sister supported him morally & financially to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.
