Farhan Azmi is an Indian entrepreneur, restaurateur, and politician. He owns many restaurants in Mumbai and Goa. Farhan is married to the Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia.

Personal life

He was born on 21 February 1982, in Mumbai. He belongs to a Muslim Family. His father’s name is Abu Asim Azim. He is the MLA of Shivaji Nagar Constituency in Mumbai. His mother’s name is Zahida. His grandfather is Haji Niyaz Ahmed Azmi. Farhan has a sister whose name is Farzeen Azmi.

He did his primary schooling at Mumbai’s Scholar High School. Farhan went to Jai Hind College to complete his graduation. He attended Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics to pursue his master’s.

He and Ayesha dated for three years. They loved each other very much and decided to get married. They tied the knot on 1 March 2009. The couple is blessed with a son, Mikail.

Career

Farhan began his career as a businessman. He is the owner of many hospitality brands, hotels, and restaurants. In Mumbai and Goa, he runs a large chain of vegetarian restaurants. Restaurants like Koyla, Café Basilico, TGL Co., Citywalk Shoes, etc are owned by him.

He is also active in politics. Once, he vied Legislative Assembly by-elections from the Bhiwandi (East) Constituency. He vied as a member of the Samajwadi Party. But unfortunately, he lost the elections to Shiv Sena candidate Rupesh Mhatre. He became the state president of the Yuva Cell in 2014. He has worked on various projects to empower the youth, fight for women’s safety, etc. Also in 2014, he even vied the Lok Sabha elections. But lost the polls.

In 2018, he quit his post as the state president. But he decided to continue to serve the party.
