Govind Namdeo is a Hindi cinema actor from India. He was born in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, on September 3, 1950. Namdeo made his acting debut in David Dhawan’s Shola Aur Shabnam as a corrupt cop (1992). He has appeared in a number of films, mostly as a villain. Govind is a 1977 graduate of the National School of Drama. He then joined the NSD repertory company, where he performed as an actor for 12–13 years.

Career of Govind Namdeo
He made his film debut in the late 1980s and gained to notoriety after playing Thakurdas Jhawle, a corrupt politician and one of the main antagonists in Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya (1998). Namdeo was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Villain for his portrayal in the critically acclaimed crime drama.
Since then, he has acted in humorous and negative parts in a number of films, including Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh (1999), the neo-noir thriller Johnny Gaddaar (2007), the political crime thriller Sarkar Raj (2008), and the satirical comedy-drama OMG: Oh My God! (2012). He has also worked in action comedy like A Gentleman (2017), the suspense thriller Kaashi In Search of Ganga (2018), the drama film Jhalki (2019), Rangeela Raja (2019), Phir Ussi Mod Par Talaq (2019) and Sur Sapata (2019). Some of his other comedies include Romeo Akbar Walter (2019), Gunwali Dulhaniya (2019), Officer Arjun Singh IPS (2019), Main Zaroor Aaunga (2019), Life Mein Time Nahi Hai Kisi Ko (2019).
Govind Namdeo’s post-production credits include Ata Pata Lapatta, Sultanat, and Ab Tak Chhappan 2, as well as his next feature Amma Ki Boli. He has also appeared in television series. He is one of those performers who has played a variety of supporting and villainous parts and will continue to do so in the future.
