Manoj Joshi was born on 14 December 1965, is a Gujarati-born Indian film and television actor. He began his career in Marathi theatre after graduating from Sir J. J. School of Arts, and he has also performed in Gujarati and Hindi theatre. Since 1998, he has appeared in over 70 films, with many of his roles being comedic.
Chanakya, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, Rau (Marathi), Sangdil, Kabhi Souten Kabhi Saheli, and Mura Raska Mai La (Marathi) are some of the TV programmes in which he has appeared.

Career of Manoj Joshi
He began his career in theatre before moving on to television series like as Chanakya, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, and Rau (Marathi). Sarfarosh (1999), Hungama (2003), Hulchul (2004), Dhoom (2004), Bhagam Bhag (2007), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Chup Chup Ke (2006), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Billu (2009) are just a few of his acting credits. Joshi has appeared in almost 60 films to date.

In the Marathi television serial Rau, he played Peshwa Baji Rao I, which was created by Smita Talwalkar and shown on DD Sahyadri.
Joshi is the younger brother of late actor Rajesh Joshi, who is well remembered for his appearances in Rangeela (as Pakya) and Sarfarosh (as Bala Thakur).
Chor Bazaari (2015), Jaatiwad (2015), Thai Jashe! (2016), Love U Family (2017), Mantr (2018), Lamboo Rastoo (2018), Kaashi (2018), IMA Gujju (2018), and Odiyan (2018) are some of his other works.
He recently appeared in Odiyan (2018), PM Narendra Modi (2019), Jhootha Kahin Ka (2019), Laal Batti (2019), Made In China (2019), Mister Kalaakar (2019), Chasani – Mithash Zindagi Ni ( (2020). In 2020, he also appeared in Coolie No. 1. In 2021, he made appearances in Hungama 2, Rashmi Rocket and Jessu Jordar. He also appeared in Gujeati films, Petipack and Nayika Devi: The Warrior Queen in 2022.

- He was born into a Gujarati household and brought up in a Marathi environment.
- Joshi’s father was noted for bridging the kirtan divide between Gujarati and Marathi traditions.
- When Manoj was in the eighth grade, he moved to Mumbai from his village in Gujarat.
- He struggled in school and failed both the eighth and ninth grades.
- Manoj always wanted to be an artist, thus theatre was never his first choice.
- When he couldn’t find work after a long search, he joined the J J college theatre circle and began performing in intercollegiate productions. It shifted his career path from that of an artist to that of an actor.
- He got his first job as a layout artist in a Gujarati magazine after earning a diploma in commercial art.
- He later worked for publications such as ‘Janmabhoomi’ and ‘Gentleman.’
- Joshi worked at the ‘Economic and Political Weekly’ for the longest time. He did, however, leave after winning the best actor award for Chanakya.
- He said in an interview in 2018 that he had played Chanakya 1,039 times during his acting career.
