Hemant Kher was born on 17 December 1977. His birthplace is Kosamba, Gujarat, India. Also, his father’s name is Ganpatsinh Hamirsinh Kher. He also has a sister named Sanvi Piludaria. Moreover, he did his primary education at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Afterward, he graduated from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Then, he went to the National School of Drama, New Delhi.

Hemant Kher got married to Urvashi Kher in the year 2006. The couple also has two children, a son named Shiv Kher and a daughter named Dhriti Kher.

Career

Hemant Kher began his career with the drama film Kya Tum Ho in 2006. In this movie, he also portrayed the character of Amrit. Then, he appeared in the drama-romantic movie Notebook as Principal in 2019. In 2020, he also played the role of Watchman in the drama-romantic film Unpaused.

In 2020, Hemant also debuted with the biography crime-drama series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. Here, he appeared as Ashwin Mehta, brother of Harshad Mehta. The show also follows the life of Harshad Mehta, who seems to be a stockbroker and pushed up the stock market. 

Hemant then made his debut as a writer with the television reality show Shabaash India on Zee TV in 2006. Afterward, he also appeared in other shows, including Sa Re Ga Pa Lil Champs 2009, Just Dance 2011, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2012, Dil Deke Dekho from 2016-17, and Horses Stable jo jeeta wohi Sikander 2021.

• He has also worked as an actor, writer, creative director, and acting coach in various movies and TV shows.
• Since childhood, Hemant was a movie buff. 
• Earlier, he would collect the reels thrown away by cinema theatres and join them. He would then show the reels to his friends by projecting them on a white sheet with the help of a torch and a magnifying glass in a stable that his family owned.
• According to Hemant, there used to be an extra period after school where he would entertain his friends by mimicking his teachers and other students. 
• He also went on stage for the first time in the third standard when he played the role of Shravan Kumar. This role was also a mythological character from the Indian epic ‘Ramayana, which he performed during an annual function. He instantly fell in love with the craft.
• Although he desperately wanted to become an actor, he couldn’t find a suitable platform to pursue his dream. However, in the twelfth standard, he accidentally came across a brochure of the National School of Drama that belonged to his teacher. After going through the pamphlet, he found out that to get admission to the NSD, he needed to complete his graduation.
• Moreover, he was very active on stage during his college years. He also failed in the third year of his graduation. However, he was happy to get more time to do theatre in college.
