Rajit Kapur was born on Sunday, 27 August 1960. His birthplace is Amritsar, Punjab. Also, his zodiac sign is Virgo. Moreover, he completed his schooling at Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai. Afterward, he pursued his graduation in commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai.

Career

Rajit Kapur started his acting career when he was six years old. During that time, he appeared in the DD National’s TV serial, ‘Khel Khilone.’ When he was in college, he acted in many theatre plays. He then started his career as a theatre actor. Afterward, he appeared in many theatres plays, like-

• ‘Love Letters,’
• ‘Class of ’84,’
• ‘Larins Sahib,’
• ‘Are There Tigers in the Congo?’
• ‘Mr. Behram,’
• ‘Six Degrees of Separation, and
• ‘Pune Highway.’ 
  

Rajit has also directed and produced many famous theatre plays.

Afterward, in 1986, he appeared in the TV serial ‘Ghar Jamai,’ aired on DD National. Then he appeared in the popular TV serial, ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’ in 1993. This serial was also aired on DD National. He also played the lead character in this TV serial. Afterward, he appeared in the sequel of ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’ in 1997.

Rajit also debuted in the Bollywood film ‘Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda’ in 1992, which Shyam Benegal directed.

Afterward, he played the character of ‘Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’ in the Bollywood film ‘The Making of the Mahatma’ in 1996. The critics and audience also appreciated his performance in this film.
