Career

Just after passing her class 10th, she started her career as a model. In 1992, she debut with her first movie named ‘Gaata Rahe Mera Dil’. But, unfortunately, this movie was not released. Then, finally, in 1993 she debut her career in the Bollywood industry with the film named ‘Baazigar’. In 1994, she appeared in a lead role for the first time in the movie, ‘Aag’.

Shilpa has also done Tamil movies. In 1996 she made her Tamil debut with the movie name ‘Mr Romeo’. In 2005, she made her Kannada movie debut, with the film named ‘Auto Shankar’.

Shilpa also got an opportunity to become a judge in 2006, for the reality show named ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. In 2016, she got a chance to host the Super Dancer series.

• The Madurai court had issued a non-bailable warrant in 2006 against Shilpa Shetty. She was charged with ‘Posing in an obscene manner’ in a Tamil Newspaper. That photograph violated the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, Young Persons (Harmful Publications) Act 1956, and the Indian Penal Code Section 292 (Sale of Obscene Books).
• In the British reality TV show named ‘Celebrity Big Brother 5’, she was one of the contestants She become part of racism and bullying by some housemates. She was treated badly for her Indian accent and also referred to as ‘Dog’ by contestants. This results in media coverage and also responses from the UK and Indian Governments. Due to this, the show was suspended for season 8.
• An American actor named ‘Richard Gere’ has forcefully hugged and kissed Shilpa Shetty in an AIDS awareness programme. Due to this, people have done protest and even the Rajasthan court has issued an arrest warrant against both of them.
